Panasonic at Mobile World Congress 2014 unveiled a new range of rugged table, which will be available in autumn of 2014. Rugged 5-inch Panasonic Toughpad is designed for all mobile workers who need a device that can handle voice and data wherever they are , even in complex environments, such as emergency services and public safety, logistics, industrial plants and warehouses. In reality it is a smaller version of the ToughPad tablet of the company.

ToughPad will be available with the new Microsoft Windows Embedded 8 operating system ( Panasonic Toughpad FZ-E1 ) and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean ( Panasonic Toughpad FZ-X1 ). Both support 3G and LTE networks, integrate a display of 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) and processor quad-core Qualcomm, but what makes them special are the houses super-armored body.

The new device is built with the rugged parameters of resistance to bumps, drops, extreme temperatures, water, and protection from dust and sets new standards for the sector of tablet devices in the levels of protection from falls and external inputs. The new Toughpad allows for the addition of peripherals with screws through the front door or through the micro USB. The Toughpad 5 will be introduced in selected European countries in the autumn of 2014, and will be the first for the range of devices rugged Panasonic Toughpad.
