LG Optimus G Pro is the answer to the phablet craving market of India and other countries where people heart any phone with a massive display. The design of the Optimus G Pro is very similar to the Optimus G but packs much more punch. Read the review to find out more about it.
Unboxing
Here is how the bow looks like – much better than the brown boxes of Samsung Galaxy S4. But to be honest, the device inside is what matters the most.
The phone is pretty big, measuring 150.2 x 76.1 x 9.4 mm. That said, like the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Mega phones, they do fit in your hands. Of course, you cannot use them with one hand.
Design
The phone did won the Reddot design award but from a 1 meter distance, it looks like a really close sibling of the Note 2. In fact, phoneprouser.com team earlier thought I was reviewing a Samsung device.
The phone has a plastic back. The Lumia 920 and iPhone 5 which falls in the same price range have more premium designs. That said, it does not feel cheap in the hands.
Display
At its launch, LG talked quite a lot about the Optimus G Pro’s display. After all, it has 5.5 inch full HD IPS+ display which looks absolutely gorgeous. It is not pentile like Galaxy S4 and S3 and is one of the clearest out there. Its DPI is 400 ppi and colors are very vibrant and accurate.
Even in sunlight, its display is very clear. Touch sensitivity is excellent. The G Pro lacks wacom digitizer that is present on Note 2 but it is good enough to take notes using LG’s QNOTE app.
LG Optimus G Pro Benchmarks
The phone is powered by Qualcomm snapdragon processor that is clocked at 1.7GHz. It is backed by 2GB RAM which together with Adreno 320 GPU does an amazing job in keeping everything super speedy. It is not faster than the Octa core Galaxy S4 but offers same performance as the US version of GS4 which has same Snapdragon 600 processor.
In the quadrant benchmark test, it scored 12118. GS4 got 13161 and Sony Xperia Z got 8105.
