The easiest way to get root on the Samsung galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition is by flashing a pre root firmware. The one I am talking about has stock kernel and lets you keep recovery stock as well.
Just keep in mind that warranty bit will be 1 after flashing it. You can flash any modem or CSC. The one mentioned is for Russia but works for any country.
