The Gionee Elife S5.5 was introduced to China now. Despite the extremely thin design, the runtime should maintain a day, which is realized by a relatively large battery. The pre-order UMTS version is already available in China, which is soon to be followed by an LTE version. This smartphone will not only by offered in China, but should also be made available in 40 other countries later.
With a thickness of only 5.5 mm the Gionee Elife S5.5 is minimally thicker. In comparison. The 2,300 mAh large battery provides support for almost whole day. The display is 5-inch, with possibly 1280 x 720 pixels HD resolution. The smartphone is powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core processor, offset by at least 2 GB of RAM. Internal memory details aren’t known yet.
The Gionee Elife S5.5 has it on the back of a 13 MP camera at the front and a 5 MP camera. The smartphone comes with Gionees own Android implementation Amigo. The UMTS version should appear soon, while the LTE model will follow in June. The price is quoted at $ 370.
