Amazon is yet to go public about its rumored smartphone that has been making rounds in the rumor mill but according to the new report, that wait is finally going to get over. The largest online retailer will be launching its phone later this year.
Earlier rumors indicated that Amazon had teamed with HTC to make the Amazon Aria phone. The company is said be to in dilemma lately as it wants to make it available in developing nations but it may not be able to provide commensurate content.
In current economic conditions, the company cannot launch a high end phone either as Samsung and Apple dominate the high end phone market with S4, Note 3 and iPhone. So it will have to sell low or mid end phone in order to be taken seriously by mobile phone market.
Since Amazon is the biggest threat to Google when it comes to online shopping, it is highly likely that the Amazon Project Aria smartphone will not ship with Google Play store. Instead, we are expecting Amazon to launch its own version of Android app marketplace where users will be able to download applications easily.
