On April 21, Motorola Mobility launched Moto G8 and Moto G8 power in the middle range class to the Moto G8 series of Android smartphones. Released on the 28th, the price at the Moto store is $240 for the former and $305 for the latter.

It will be a lower model of the Moto G8 plus, priced at $314 announced in February of this year (2020), and the lineup will be offered at a lower price. However, the SoC is equipped with the same Snapdragon 665 as the plus, 4GB memory, 64GB storage is unchanged.

The major difference is the performance of the camera. The main camera has a resolution of 48 million pixels plus, while the G8 and G8 power have 16 million pixels. In addition, the resolution of the plus was 6.3 type 2,280 x 1,080 pixels, but the power is 6.4 type 2,300 x 1,080 dots, and the lower model is larger. For G8, the size is 6.4 type with 1,560 x 720 dots.

The Moto G8’s camera is equipped with 3 cameras: 16 million pixel main + 2 million pixel macro + 8 million pixel wide-angle video camera. The Moto G8 is equipped with laser autofocus, which enables high-speed autofocus.

On the other hand, the cameras with power are equipped with 4 cameras: 16 million pixel main + 2 million pixel macro + 8 million pixel wide-angle video camera + 8 million pixel optical zoom compatible camera.

Each camera is equipped with an AI engine to automatically optimize shooting modes and settings according to the shooting scene. It is also possible to shoot spot colors, cinemagraphs, time lapses, slow motion, etc. with camera software.
