There is again a new and apparently more precise date for the introduction and introduction of the Comet Lake S processors by Intel. Recently, a document became known that spanned a fairly wide window of appointments.
The possible start dates lasted until June. As per new report by ElChapuzasInformatico, now reports, the platform in the form of processors and chipset will now be presented on April 30. However, this does not mean that the hardware will also be on the market.

The first test reports should be released in May, which of course also includes all technical information on the processors and the chipset or chipsets. On April 30, Intel will first talk about pricing and availability. How reliable the new information is can hardly be estimated. We have already heard dozens of appointments for Comet Lake-S and the current situation around the corona virus should also play a role. Problems with the implementation of PCI-Express 4.0 in the associated chipset and an enormous high power consumption have also been discussed.
The Comet Lake S processors are still based on the Skylake architecture and are manufactured in 14 nm. In the new LGA1200 socket they should have a TDP of up to 125 W, but they should also achieve a boost clock of up to 5.3 GHz in the form of the top models, for example the Core i9 10900K. Instead of up to eight cores as before, Intel now wants to be able to offer up to ten cores with Comet Lake-S. It remains to be seen whether this will be enough to position itself better against AMD’s current Ryzen processors.
Recently there was new information about the Rocket Lake S platform. This should offer 20 PCI-Express 4.0 lanes and a Xe graphic. Rocket Lake-S is not expected before 2021, so let’s close Comet Lake-S first. In addition, Alder Lake-S may be a hybrid design for the desktop.
