Linux is not the most popular operating system when it comes to tablets. The two most dominant operating systems in tablet world are iPad OS and Android OS. JingPad A1 claims to be world’s first consumer level Linux tablet. It is not cheap though with price starting at 549 dollars. The product is scheduled to ship on September 7. 

JingPad A1 is an 11-inch tablet equipped with the next-generation Linux-based mobile OS “JingOS”. Since it is based on Linux, common desktop apps for Linux such as Thermal, GIMP, LibreOffice, and programming apps will work. On the other hand, it also has a mechanism called Android Apps on JingOS (AAJ), and most Android apps can also be operated. 

On the hardware side, on the other hand, it features an 11-inch AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 4: 3, which is 2,368 x 1,768 dots.
