Telefonica Ecuador is the second telephone network provider in Ecuador to start 4G LTE service. Right now the service is available only in the capital city of Quito. Frequency used is FDD-LTE 1900 (B2) MHz. Folks at Corporacion Nacional de Telecomunicaciones have done the hard work in deploying the LTE service in the Quito and will be expanding its coverage in the coming months.

All of these phones that are on sale currently in Ecuador will be able to make use of LTE broadband service:

UK mobile operator EE has announced the Osprey 2 mini router with FDD-LTE / W-CDMA / GSM connectivity. Osprey 2 mini specifications include Qualcomm MDM9225, Qualcomm AR6004 chips with category 4 LTE UE connectivity with maximum down speed of 150Mbps and uplink speeds of up to 50Mbps.

The devices are connected to the Osprey 2 mini mobile LTE WiFi router using IEEE 802.11 b / g / n (2.4GHz) wireless LAN network. It has inbuilt capacity of 6GB and battery size is 1500 mAh. Right now, only one color variant is available and it is black.

In the box, you get device, USB cable, Keep Me Card, Quick Start guide, Cloth pouch and Safety leaflet. It measures just 88 x 88 x 17.6 mm.

LG has introduced two new projectors in to the market, Mini Beam PH1500 Pro and TV PW800. The LG Mini Beam PH1500 Pro specifications include full HD projection on to an area of 120 inches with a brightness of 1400 lumens and a contrast ratio of 150,000: 1. It measures 132 x 220 x 84 mm and weighs 1.5 kilograms making it very portable and light. It is like carrying a mini laptop with you.

LG Mini Beam TV PW800 specifications include dimensions of 140 x 140 x 50 mm and weighs 600 grams, packing 1280 x 800 pixels on a maximum surface area of 100 inches at a distance of 3.25 meters. Compared to the PH1500 Pro, it has lower brightness of 800 lumens with a contrast ratio of 100,000: 1.

The LG Mini Beam PH1500 Pro and LG Mini Beam TV PW800 is now on sale in Korea and United Status by the end of March. The company has not yet officially announced the price.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge features a dual edge display which makes it more functional than the single edge display of Galaxy Note 4 Edge. If the new report from koreaherald is to be believe, then Samsung might include the same dual edge display design in the Galaxy Note 5 Edge.

This all depends if the Galaxy S6 Edge enjoys good sales. If it does not then Samsung might do away with the entire Edge range including Galaxy Note 4 Edge and S6 Edge.

It is being said that the Samsung Galaxy 4 Edge is not very successful like the regular Note 4. So only if the S6 Edge is successful, the company will be using the same design in Note 5 Edge.

Crucial has launched some really good solid state drives that an average consumer can afford and buy. Called the Crucial BX100 it will be made available in four capacities –  120 GB, 250 GB, 500 GB and 1 TB. The BX100 makes use of Silicon Motion SM2246EN controller.

Specifications include read speed is of up to 535 MB/s and write speed of 185 MB/s. The 250GB, 500GB and 1TB solid state drives offer 370 MB/s and 450 MB/s write and read speeds respectively. Random performance is of 70,000 4K read/write input/output operations per second (IOPS).

It features a standard 2.5 inch form factor that can be used in any laptop or mini laptop and will retail for $70 for 120GB model, $110 for 250GB, $200 for 500GB and $470 for the 1 terabyte model.

Shipments of Crucial BX100 will commence in first quarter of 2015. The company will be bundling an app called Storage Executive tool that will allow you to monitor SSD’s health, temperature and status.
