Users of Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 in the UK can now download the Android 4.4.2 update today. The KitKat update will be available as an OTA so keep an eye on the notification panel. If you have not received the notification, you should check the settings to download the update manually.
As with other Samsung’s Android 4.4.2 updates, most of the changes have been done to user interface. So the touch-wiz UI has relatively unchanged compared to Android 4.3. Cosmetic changes include change in the color of the status bar icons, camera shortcut from the lockscreen etc. There are some performance improvements as well.
Samsung is one of the first manufacturers to rollout Android 4.4 to its devices along with HTC. Sony and LG are quite behind behind the Korean giant as far as updates are concerned.
