A new batch of images purporting to be running on a Nexus 5 phone with Android 4.4 have shown up on Italian site, and they confirm transparent navigation and status bars with white icons. Right from the lock screen, there is a camera icon that can be dragged to fire up the camera application. You can still swipe the screen to the left to do the same action. On the home screen, there is a new app drawer icon, and the phone icon is new as well.
The indicators show that there are 6 panels by default on the device, but the number is adjustable. So, lets say you want more panels, just drag a widget to the last page, and a new panel will made available. There is no black background in the app drawer, and it now uses wallpaper image. It looks neat and professional. To access the widgets, you will have to do a long press – just like pre-ICS.
Gallery app has been supplanted by Google Photos, which is apparently different than the Google+ Photos. In fact, latter is gone, so we fathom it is combined with Google Photos app. Settings and search icon have been updated as well. via.
Of course, current Nexus 4 users will be getting this update as well.
