The Taiwanese company showcased U21MD Convertible Tablet with Windows 8 recently at CES 2014. The tablet has a classic design, measures (297 x 226 x 20 mm) weighs 1.4 Kg. USP of the tab is that it can work as a laptop, a convertible tablet and can be rotated to 180 degrees if attached to the docking station.
There is a windows button that allows one to turn on the laptop. There is a cylindrical charger, on which tablet could be mounted and charged vertically. You can monitor the charging status via LEDs located on the front of the notebook itself. The docking station houses three ports USB 3.0 , two USB 2.0 , a digital video output HDMI , two audio jacks for Line In and Out, D-Sub video outputs, RJ-45, SD card reader, audio system with two speakers with 1.5 watts each and support Dolby Home Theater v4. Modules Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 + LE , with the optional 3G, and a plug for connecting to wired networks, are connectivity option available.
The tablet dons a multitouch, a 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 pixel resolution screen. It is powered by Intel Core i5-4200U 1.6 GHz processor or alternatively, a 1.7-GHz Pentium 3558U, up to 16 GB DDR3L RAM and a dual storage system, a combine of a 128/256 GB solid state drive and traditional type 500GB/750 GB/1 TB SATA hard drive. Customer may also opt the only SSD or hard disk.
The ultrabook will be available starting next month of March at a cost of $ 799 for the basic equipment.
