Engineering samples of Intel Core i7 Haswell E chipsets have emerged online, and according to the sources, it will be a 22 nm chip. It will be successor to the X79 chipset, which is current top-of-the-line chip. Release date of Core i7 Haswell-E is Q3 2014.
Our source says that the Haswell-E will not be backwards compatible with the X79 high end chipset, even though both use same socket. Also, this will be the first time Intel will be offering an octo core CPU to its consumers.
Core i7 Haswell E Specs include X99 chipset, DDR4 RAM, native USB 3.0 support, 10x SATA 600 connectors, and 3.0 GHz clock speed.
