Qualcomm Technologies from United States has announced the company’s new quick charge standard Quick Charge 3+.
It will be available on all processors released after Snapdragon 765 / 765G.
Quick Charge 3+ aims to realize faster charging in a low price range, and charging from 0 to 50% is possible in 15 minutes. Charges 35% faster at a temperature 9 degree centigrade lower than the previous generation.
Heat is main enemy when it comes to fast charging. Extreme heat can cause battery to explode which is why it is important that something like Qualcomm Quick Charge 3+ keeps temperature down while increasing charging speed.
As with Quick Charge 4, a cable that supports voltage supply in 20 mV increments can be used, ensuring backward compatibility. Cable certification and protection functions are also integrated.
As a compatible device, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite Zoom smartphone is said to be the world’s first product that supports both Quick Charge 4 + / 3 +.
This tech would not be coming to iPhone anytime soon unless they switch to Qualcomm processors. Pretty sure that will never happen since Apple makes use of customized Apple A-series chipsets in iPhone and iPad devices.
