NATO has publically announced that several of its websites were hacked and brought down by hackers. Our source tell us that it was done due to increasing tensions over Crimea region. According to Oana Lungescu, a spokeswoman for NATO, the cyber attacks commenced on Saturday and continued till Sunday.
NATO officials told reuters the alliance has been restore most of its services and added that at no point was its ability to command and control its forces impeded. However, it did admit that unclassified email network got affected by these cyber attacks.
Its cyber security center in Estonia was also brought down by using DDoS attack where the hacker crashed the site by overloading it with requests.
