Sprint has revealed its plans for upgrading selected Samsung Android phones and tablets to the latest version of Android, v4.4 KitKat. The network providers says that these devices are planned to get updates:
Galaxy Note 2
Galaxy S4 Mini
Galaxy S3
Galaxy Mega
Galaxy Tab 3 7.0
Samsung Galaxy S4 and Note 3 have already started getting the KitKat as over-the-air update. This was rolled out on February 13 and 20. It is excellent that more devices are getting KitKat, since that is the latest version of Android. However, since most of these changes are under the hood, users will not notice any noticeable user interfaces changes.
Some notable enhancements include new location menu, SMS in the Hangouts app, and the upgraded lock screen. Unfortunately, a timeline is is not available yet for any of these devices.
