WeChat has just made it official that it has already passed 355 million monthly users and will soon surpass WhatsApp’s user count which is currently the world’s most popular messaging application. WhatsApp was recently bought by Facebook for a whopping USD 16 billion and has 450 million monthly active users.
Those figures were released by Tencent, the company behind WeChat. Most of its user base is in China and its breakdown details of the monthly activity were not released with the results.
WeChat also rolled out its gaming service that lets users play wide variety of games inside the application itself.
