Qualcomm launched all new Snapdragon 801 at MWC 2014, the successor to the Snapdragon 800, a quad-core SoC at 2:45 GHz with Adreno 330 GPU at 578MHz.
The Snapdragon 801 is a simple update of the previous Snapdragon 800. The four-core Krait 400 32-bit can now reach a maximum frequency of 2:45 GHz well compared to the 2.26 GHz Snapdragon 800, while Adreno 330 GPU will rise from 450 to 578 Mhz.
Similarly, it is also has updated memory interface , which now supports dual channel 32-bit type LPDDR3-1866 -1600 configurationsĀ instead of LPDDR3. Finally, the SoC includes support for eMMC 5.0 interface, allowing even faster transfers from the NAND Flash to the latest generation.
