ADLINK has released a portable GPU powered by Thunderbolt 3 port. It is easiest way to add Nvidia RTX A500 graphics card to your laptop. Price is 400 dollars and it can add some serious graphics power for your professional and gaming needs.
The Nvidia RTX A500 adds 2,048 CUDA cores, 64 Tensor cores and 16 RT cores. Base clock is 435MHz, Boost clock is 1,335MHz. The peak computing performance of FP32 is 6.54TFLOPS. The memory is 4GB GDDR6, and the bus width is 64bit. TDP is 25W.
The ADLINK Pocket AI eGPU measures 106 x 72 x 25 mm and a weight of 250 grams. It is powered by USB PD and is ideal for AI development, 3D content development with CAD, 2D illustration, video processing, and 3D rendering in embedded industrial applications.
The package does not include Thunderbolt 4 cable, not even shipping fee or VAT, the final price will be slightly more than $400. It is up for pre-order on adlinktech.com. Supported operating systems include Windows 10/11 and Linux. Interestingly, Mac OS is not supported, not even previous version.
Also, your laptop must be able to supply 15V/40W of power to the eGPU, otherwise you might need external power source or power bank.
