Despite being only a few hours away from the official launch of the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti and RTX 2080 graphics cards, leaks continue to occur with respect to the new cards. Although this last leak is more the confirmation of something that we had already talked about in the past. And it is the fact that NVIDIA has chosen to provide its Founders Edition model with a heatsink that would dispense with the traditional blower type heatsink, by one equipped with two fans on its body.

This movement is, at least, surprising, given that its current NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti card has a TDP very similar to that of the new GeForce GTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 (250 W of the current Ti, compared to the 258 W that would have the new GeForce RTX) and employs a blower type heatsink.

All the images of the models with custom heatsinks that we have seen so far have allowed us to see models with two or even three fans on their heatsinks. Actually this type of configuration in this type of heatsinks is quite frequent in the high-end graphics cards. But the fact that NVIDIA now uses it for its new cards, leads us to think that the new distribution of the components on the surface of the new PCB, requires greater dissipation than it is able to provide a model equipped with steam chamber for the core and RAM GDDR6.

What we know, for the time being, of the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti is that they will have 4,352 CUDA cores running at 1,545 MHz, along with 11 GB of GDDR6 RAM. On the other hand, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 would have 2,944 CUDA cores running at 1,710 MHz and 8 GB of GDDR6 RAM. In both cases, the TDP of these new graphics cards would be around 258 W (as we have already mentioned), without being a precisely low TDP, it is clear that if these new graphics cards are so powerful As we hope, we doubt that this will throw back the users when buying them, very contrary to what happened with the AMD Radeon RX Vega 64.
