Intel has announced two new processors – first is SoFIA (codename), and its release date is sometime next year. The second one is Braxton, which is slated to be released in 2015. SoFIA will be introduced in H2 2014, and it is based on the Atom processor. It will feature integrated 3G radio, while will allow laptop manufactures to offer low-powered tablets and thin laptops with built in 3G connectivity.
It is also the first one to feature 64 bit architecture, and would run windows 8 operating system just fine. In the year 2015, an LTE version that will provide 4G connectivity will also be made available. Also coming in late 2014 is Atom based Moorefield, a k a Cherry Trail processors that will be manufactured using 14 nm transistors. They will thus offer significant graphics boost for smartphones and tablets.
