ASUS G550JK is a gaming notebook and belongs to the Republic of Gamers family. For many it is a more compact version of the ‘ ASUS G750 which we have already mentioned in the past. These two laptops have similar specifications, starting with the body dressed in brushed aluminum coating and cleaner and more straightforward design. The keyboard comes with the red backlight LED keys.
Inside the chassis that measures 383 x 255 x 27.7 mm and weighs 2.6 kg, you get a choice between an Intel Core i5-4200H or i7-4700HQ processor that is accompanied by up to 16 GB of 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM, 750 GB or 1 TB hard drive (5400 RPM and 7200 RPM) and above all a dedicated graphics card from Nvidia, the GeForce GTX 850M with 2 or 4 GB of DDR3 onboard. Among other features is its 15.6 inches which is available with either HD or Full HD IPS panel with anti-glare technology.
ASUS G550JK also integrates an optical drive where you can choose between Blu-ray Combo or DVD Super-Multi drive. Other specs include HD webcam, Wi-Fi modules and Intel WiDi (Wireless Display) technology for wireless video streaming, Bluetooth 4.0 and Gigabit Ethernet LAN, 3 USB 3.0 ports, HDMI digital video outputs, a mini DisplayPort, RJ-45 connector for wired networks, combo audio jack for headphones and microphone, Kensington security slot and 2-in-1 (SD / SDXC / MMC) memory card reader. There is also an audio system with four speakers backed with ASUS SonicMaster and MaxxAudio.
