Asus is all set to launch a mini-desktop featuring Intel’s Bay Trail processor, NVIDIA Graphic card, Bluetooth, Ethernet, HDMI, WiFi support. The unit is priced at $364.
The innards include Intel’s Celeron J1900 SoC Bay Trail 2.43 GHz quad-core processor, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 820M discrete GPU graphics with dedicated memory of 512 MB, and 8 GB of DDR3 RAM. It supports Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Pro. It has a VGA and an HDMI output, a 4-in-1 card reader, and D-sub connector, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, a headphone port, and a microphone port.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi. Internal memory options include a 64 GB/ 128 GB Solid State Drive or a Hard Drive ranging 320 GB to 1 TB.
Since the Celeron J1900 processor is 10W chip, it doesn’t generate much heat, so there is no fan in the Eee Box EB1037, hence it runs silently.
