AMD finally adds models of AMD Ryzen 3 in its AMD Ryzen 2 processor catalog. To begin the list of the new Ryzen 2000 processors that the company has introduced, we started with the Ryzen 3, the company’s entry range. These will be the AMD Ryzen 3 2100 and the AMD Ryzen 3 2300X, these processors arrive with four cores without SMT.
The 2000 series of the AMD Ryzen 5 with the 2500X that has four cores and eight threads. The first Threadripper of the 2000 series will be the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2900X, 2920X and the best of all: the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X. In the same way that Intel has done with the Coffee Lake, little by little we will see how the company increases its catalog of processors for all types of sectors, not just desktop. In fact, the company has given the name of the next three processors that will launch for laptops: we find the AMD Ryzen 3 2000U, the AMD Ryzen 5 2600U and the AMD Ryzen 7 2700U.
While AMD advances its catalog of Intel processors, it is practically complete. The company accelerated the exit of the Coffee Lake to avoid another collapse in the market as happened with the departure of the Ryzen. The answer from Intel has been consistent, but it has remained in the manufacturing process of 14 nm, while AMD has already reached 12 nm and expects to launch next year the 7 nm: becoming the first company to produce such small desktop processors.
What we do not see anywhere is the expected AMD Ryzen 7 2800X, the eight-core processor of the company that could present at any time. We know that both AMD and Intel have their top eight-core processors ready, but they have not launched it waiting for the other to do it. Will this play go to the companies?
