ASUS chose Zenfone as name of its new line Android-based smartphone, consisting three models that differ in size, and Intel Atom processors of different operating frequency. The ASUS Zenfone 4, 5 and 6 have same body full flat polycarbonate which will be available in 5 colors. The front part of the display has an aluminum that gives a typical finish with concentric circles, which is also present on the cover of the notebook Zenbook.
The ASUS Zenfone 4 is the smallest of the group, with thickness of 9.9 mm and weights only 115 g. The screen is a standard TFT LCD with a diagonal of 4 inches and a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Inside there’s an Intel Atom Z2520 Clover Trail + 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of memory expandable via memory eMMC microSD. The ASUS Zenfone 4 also has a 0.3 MP webcam, a 5 MP rear camera, Wi-Fi modules and Bluetooth 4.0 and a 1170 mAh battery.
Zenfone 5 is a 5-inches terminal with 1280 x 800 pixels IPS screen, Intel Atom Z2580 Clover Trail, 1 GB RAM and 4 to 16 GB of expandable storage. The front webcam is of 2 MP, while the rear has a sensor from 8 MP type pixelmaster which promises brighter shots. The camera is also equipped with image stabilizer. The particular smartphone’s screen can also be used with gloves or with a pen, optional. The battery is 2050 mAh.
The Zenfone 6 is a 6-inch IPS HD screen smartphone with a stylus, measures 166.9 x 84.3 x 9.9 mm, weights 200 g and has specification similar to the previous model, except for the 2 GB RAM, internal memory of either 8 GB or 16 GB. The rear camera is of 13 MP with the pixelmaster technology, while the battery is 3230 mAh. All three models are also equipped with the operating system Google Android 4.3 Jelly Bean , with proprietary interface Zen UI which integrates the new menu What’s Next that collects all the notifications, shortcuts on the main screen, To-Dos etc.
The new Zenfone 4, 5 and 6, will be accompanied by some accessories, like the pen which is only available for models 5 and 6 or the semi-hard case.
