The Samsung Galaxy Tab 12.2 is a high end Android (ver 4.4 Kitkat) tablet having several interesting features like the Polycarbonate back cover that mimics the look of textured leather.
As for hardware configuration, it has a 12.2 inch multitouch display with a resolution of 2560 X 1440 pixels, SoC Qualcomm Snapragon 800 (for LTE version) or Exynos 5 Octa (for WiFI version only), 3 GB RAM, and storage for 16 or 32 GB, modules 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, a microUSB port, microSD card reader to expand the internal memory. A 9500 mAh battery is also provided.The tablet comes with UX magazine interface, which replaces the TouchWiz interface.
The customizability is very high. We can have several screens, each composed of multiple panes. We can resize and added app at will, choose between automatic layouts proposed by the same interface by simply clicking on the button with the two arrows to switch between them. Multitasking support allows one to open and pull up to four different app in a cross pattern . It is also possible to adjust the size of each pane. Every single app can be resized, closed, and managed using a few buttons appearing in a context menu.
Samsung has also included two interesting accessories as evident from the presence of Hancom Office suite : a keyboard and a mouse . The mouse doesn’t function as a classic desktop mouse but offers features tailored for the UX Magazine interface. The left button launchs the app and programs, while click on the right button brings one back to the main screen. One can scroll back and forth between different screens with the wheel. While a small button near the thumb allows quick access to a screen from which you view and manage all the apps running in the background. Samsung Galaxy Tab 12.2 Pro seems a perfect solution for those who want an Android device suitable for the creation of content. The new Samsung Galaxy Tab 12.2 Pro will be available during the first quarter of this year, at a price not announced yet.
