Samsung has won the contract to manufacture the next generation Apple A8 processor. Production will be done in the same Texas facility that earlier churned out the 64 bit Apple A7 dual-core CPU for the iPhone 5S and iPad Air.
According to the online report from Zdnet Korea, a manufacturing agreement between the two companies has already been signed and engineers from both companies are working together to start up the production.
Taiwan based chip maker, TSMC was earlier rumored to be chosen as main manufacture for the Apple A8 CPU leaving Samsung as a secondary supplier.
