Samsung and Google joined the myriad Chinese mobile phone manufactures in expressing their concern over Microsoft bid to take over the Nokia’s phone part. They fear that this may result in even higher patent fees.
It is rumored that Microsoft takes USD 15 for every Android handset.
Nokia has a very strong patent portfolio and together the duo as said by sfgate can abuse the patents. Microsoft won EU approval for the bid in December 2013, and the regulators said they would continue to see if how Nokia and MS license their patents to the Android phone manufactures. The European Union has also agreed to pay 20 million Euros to Ex Nokia people. Microsoft is purchasing the Nokia’s entire phone business, and the Redmond giant’s patent portfolio would get even more powerful.
